Note: If place names appear multiple times in the Greek text with different links or coordinates they are highlighted in bold orange to indicate potential ambiguity. Hover to compare links and coordinates with their context.
Please note that the marks of place names in sections with Greek text are added automatically by a JavaScript, using an array of places that is extracted from the Recogito Annotation Database and contains place names, links, coordinates and descriptions for a section. The same arrey is also used to mark the position of the section's place names in the map.
The potential ambiguity is a consequence of this automatic marking, whereby the Greek text is searched for words that correspond to a place name in the array. Places with the same name that appear multiple times in the array (and, thereby, in the Greek text) might not by marked with correct links and map coordinates in the Greek Text. The place χώραν (country) or ἄγαλμα (statue), for example, might refer to different places, depending on the context.
Hover a place in the Greek text to highlight and zoom its position in the map.
